My Cinderella Inspired Outfit :)
My favorite part of competitions: The celebration hugs and tears.
After going to States today I have realized a couple of things.
Number 1: I love cheerleading so much. I never realized how much fun competitions are even if you aren’t cheering. With the loud music and risky stunts, my heart beats fast and I get nervous for the girls (and guys) on the mat.
Number 2: I love my squad. I hope that for the underclassmen who haven’t competed before that they will see that Asheboro is capable of competing. & with the help of Amber and me, we’re going to get them there!
Number 3: I want to judge cheerleading competitions. For someone like me who already loves it so much, that would be the coolest way to make an extra buck in college. Plus, I really want to help Asheboro with it’s program, so Amber and I are going to try to re-work our routine and work the girls out so that they’ll be ready for it next year. We have to get in to their spirit. Once that determaination is stuck in there, there will be no turning back.
Number 4: Erwin’s dedication amazes me. Just last week there were 6 girls with strep throat, 2 with mono, one with a broken nose, one with a torn ab, and another with a torn muscle in her back. And then today I learn that one girl competed (and based) with a broken wrist! Let me mention that there are only 14 girls on this squad, so that’s crazy! But they all made it. It might have hurt for a little bit, but their legacy lives on. They are champions. It didn’t come easy for them; they feel the same pain as everyone else, but they push through. Amazing.
